We pass on your order to your GP. This is usually done on the same (working) day as you place a request, Monday to Friday, between 9:00am and 5:30pm.

We will ask for the prescription via the Surgery's preferred method of contact. On average, surgeries can take up to 4 working days to issue the prescription to us.

Once your GP approves this, they should send us the prescription electronically.

We'll then check and process your prescription; once it's checked by our pharmacists, we’ll let you know and start preparing your order.

Your GP may be taking longer than usual due to a number of reasons:

  • They have sent the prescription to your old pharmacy

  • They would like to speak to you before they issue the prescription

  • They issued a paper prescription that hasn't arrived with us in the post yet

  • They may just be busy and haven’t had the chance to send over your prescription yet

In the meantime, we’d recommend contacting the surgery yourself as they may wish to speak to you before issuing the prescription. If the surgery has issued the prescription, they can provide you with a prescription barcode which will help us better locate the issued prescription.

Alternatively, you can contact us at help@lloydsdirect.co.uk and our Patient Care Advisors can look into this for you ASAP!
