NHS exemptions and prepayment certificates

How to add NHS exemptions and prepayment certificates to your account.

Updated over 2 years ago

If you have an NHS exemption, you don’t need to pay for your prescriptions.

We automatically apply NHS exemptions for:

  • patients under the age of 16

  • patients over the age of 60

  • prescriptions for some contraceptives

Not entitled to an exemption? Buying a prepayment certificate could make your prescriptions cheaper.

Adding an exemption or prepayment certificate

  1. Go to Account.

  2. Select your name.

  3. Select Add an exemption.
